Cover the Festival

Thank you for your interest in covering the 15th Annual John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival, happening Sept. 5–6, 2026 at Oak Hollow Festival Park in High Point, North Carolina.

Application deadline: Aug. 23, 2026

Requests received after the deadline will not be considered. Submission does not guarantee credentialing.

Eligibility and required materials

Applicants must be working journalists covering nonprofit, business, community, or entertainment topics for publicly circulated news outlets, including newspapers, radio stations, television stations, and websites. Bloggers will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Complete, sign, and submit the Contact Information Form and Volunteer Waiver through the application.
  • Provide links to recently published work, including past Festival coverage when applicable.

Required Liability Waiver

All press credential applicants must sign and return this liability waiver before credentials can be issued.


Review process

Our team will do its best to respond within 72 hours of submission. Because of the volume of requests, responses may occasionally be delayed. The Festival reserves the right to deny or revoke credentials for any reason. Previous credentialing does not guarantee access for this year’s event.

Important notes

  • Photo access is limited. Photo credentials provide access to the photo pit for a short period at the beginning of each performance. Promotional photos can be provided to credentialed journalists without photo access.
  • Photographer delivery requirement. Credentialed photographers agree to share all Festival photos by Sept. 30, 2026 using WeTransfer, emailed to [email protected] and [email protected]. Photographers who do not meet this deadline will not be eligible for future Festival credentials.
  • Usage rights. Friends of John Coltrane, Inc. reserves the right to reprint or rebroadcast, free of charge, Festival coverage produced by journalists it credentials.
  • After approval. An event ticket and Festival-weekend arrival instructions will be sent by email.
