The house where John Coltrane and his family lived as a child will be open for tours during the weekend of the Coltrane Jazz Festival. A historical marker will be dedicated at the home on 118 Underhill Street, High Point, NC in a ceremony on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 starting at 11 a.m. The ceremony will include remarks by current members of the Coltrane family. A Pop Up Exhibit will also be featured which will illustrate the jazz icon’s life as a youth.
