Marcus Anderson

Performing Live

Sunday, Sep 6, 2026

Marcus Anderson is a two-time Grammy and Stellar Award–nominated saxophonist who brings a rare combination of technical brilliance, stage charisma, and cross-genre fluency that resonates deeply with today’s jazz audiences. Anderson will be performing on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026 at the John Coltrane International Jazz and Blues Festival in High Point, NC.

Soul Meets Fire

With 18 studio albums and five Billboard #1 hits, Anderson has built a catalog that moves effortlessly between jazz, R&B, funk, pop, and rock—earning him a devoted following across generations and musical tastes.

Hailing from Spartanburg, SC, Anderson’s ascent reached global visibility through his work with the late icon Prince and the New Power Generation. His contributions to the final album recorded in Prince’s lifetime, HITnRUN, Phase Two, particularly on the cuts  “Revelation” and “Look at Me Look at You,” displayed a fearless artistry that blends precision with emotional depth. That same versatility has placed him alongside an impressive roster of collaborators, including Stevie Wonder, CeeLo Green, Lalah Hathaway, and Anthony Hamilton.

Music, Community & Purpose

On stage, Anderson is a commanding presence. His performances with his band, The Creatives, are immersive, high-energy experiences that invite audiences to feel every note.

Beyond performance, Anderson is a forward-thinking entrepreneur and cultural innovator. As founder of AND Coffee, he merged two passions—music and community—into the Jazz AND Coffee Escape Festival, an experience that continues to attract fans nationwide. He has also expanded his creative universe through The Creatives, a groundbreaking comic book and animated series, and through the Marcus Anderson Foundation, which champions youth development through music and leadership.

Driven by purpose and creativity, Marcus Anderson doesn’t just perform—he connects, uplifts, and inspires.
